Environmental Protection & Community Development

in the Tibetan Plateau region of China

Plateau Perspectives is a non-profit organization that aims to promote conservation and sustainable development in the Tibetan Plateau region of China. We work closely with local government, local communities and other organizations as well as national and international academic institutions:

  • To protect the headwaters of the major rivers originating on the Tibetan plateau including the Yangtze, Yellow and Mekong Rivers
  • To conserve the unique biological diversity of the grasslands and mountains
  • To promote more sustainable livelihoods in the fragile alpine environment
  • To enhance quality and access to social services for local communities
