General description

Zaduo County is located in the southwest of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. It comprises the headwaters of the Mekong River. The total land area is 34,557 km². There are 1 town and 7 townships. The government is situated in Sahuteng.

The population of Zaduo County is 36,000, of which the majority is Tibetan. Zaduo County is entirely based on animal husbandry. Zaduo County is reputed to have some of the best caterpillar fungus in the entire Tibetan Plateau region.
